Lemonade Stand Printable

I love using the song "Lemonade" with my kiddos. It is great for high/low or sol-mi.

When teaching a question/answer song like this, I have found it really helps to use puppets to differentiate between the characters. I also try to display the words, after they have heard it a few times and have the different voices color coded. Eventually, I can have the class be the response, then later divide the class and half can ask the questions and half can answer. Finally I get it down to 2 child soloists. If they are given a puppet to hold, they WANT to have a turn to solo sing and they don't even think about it as singing alone in front of their class.

I found the cutest lemonade picture frame at Hobby Lobby this summer. They may still have a few of them in their summer clearance section if you are super lucky or you can probably create something similar. This one is just a 4 x 6 photo fame, so it's not super big, but I thought it would be really fun to have as a prop behind finger puppets and put in a center for dramatic play and solo singing. You can click here to get your own photo frame copy in color and black and white.

This week, I am offering a song file as my dollar deal. I love using Old Brass Wagon when teaching 16th notes.

It includes lyrics pages, pages with beat icons like the one pictures below:

It includes rhythmic icons for all rhythms present as well as shows the notation of the ones we already know but leaves the icons for the new mystery rhythm. At this point, the kids can see and hear that there are four sounds on a page and you a ready to present. You can present using any syllables that you want. You are not locked in with this set.

I am also trying to make writing a bigger part of my classroom, but not mindless busy work type of writing. Here's an example of a page I created for this set that works on memory and writing the missing rhythms in the song.

More about that soon!

I have created a few different room themes recently be request, but now I'll slowly be revealing what's going on in my music room this year!

This year I will be decorating in a ...........drum roll please.......WATERCOLOR THEME!!!

I am really loving the watercolor look right now, thought it would be really fun and still soothing for my music room.

I have a few things done already (not printed and posted in my room, but ready print):

I went a little crazy on my set of dynamics posters. Usually I include 8 posters, one for fff, ff, f, mf, mp, p, pp, and ppp. This time I have over 350 pages of options. Over 11 background colors, black or white text, and with or without English translation.

Here's a little preview:

These are just SOME of the options.

If you love this watercolor look as much as I do, you won't want to miss my $1 deal of the week. Grab these dynamics posters for just $1 and send me a picture of the color(s) you end up choosing for your room!
